Mlýny TRAIN – Javor 693 m– Křížový buk 5 km – Chřibský vrch Hill 621 m 7 km – former rock theatre - Chřibská square BUS 12 km
Entire route marked green, stays in Lusatian Mountain forests.
From the station in Mlýny, a mountain village in the upper Kamenice valley, walk up along the forest paths to the south-eastern side of Javor. The trail goes round the southern and western slopes of the mountain through some beautiful beech woods. You can see glimpses of Klíč and the Kamenice valley; the Střední vrch and Zlatý vrch hills can only be seen when vegetation is sparse.
Pass the peak of Javor with its basalt rocks on the right-hand side.
There is a signpost by the Křížový Buk gamekeeper's lodge. Continue heading north to the turn-off to Chřibský vrch Hill.
The sign takes you up over the north slope to the western slope, where there is a lovely view from the rocks towards Studenec and Bohemian Switzerland. This is a lovely spot for a rest. The trail ends just after the summit, with views towards Jedlová and Chřibská.
Go back to the turn-off and keep on north along the wide path that runs downwards through the forest. Take the turn-off to the old rock theatre dating from 1931. It’s fairly well preserved, but is hardly ever used.
Descend through the woods and meadows to the Radnice bus stop in Chřibská; here you can visit the Thadäus Haenke Museum. You can take the bus to Varnsdof, Rumburk or Děčín.
