The oldest original nature trail in Bohemia, founded in 1941. Mr. Rudolf Kögler founded it with the help of the Society for northern Bohemia. He died in 1949, fating the path to be forgotten.
After being re-opened in 2006, it was reconstructed into a roundabout path with the starting point in Krásná Lípa's city square by the House of Bohemian Switzerland. A local Club of Bohemian tourists took care of it marking with the help of city Krásná Lípa, using European Union's grant for that purpose. The path is 23 km long, and can be taken in the reverse direction as well.
There are 39 stops with Czech-German descriptions of each site. The path leads through valuable natural parts of Lužické mountains, the National Park of Bohemian Switzerland and climbs up to the top of Vlčí hora mountain with an excellent lookout of Lužický přesmyk, Bohemian Switzerlan, Middle mountains, Ještěd mountain and Krkonoše mountains. A printed guide has been published with a detailed map including descriptions of all the trail's stops, which can be bought in the infocenter in the House of Bohemian Switzerland in Krásná Lípa or in our e-shop.
The trip can be shortened, for example, you can board a bus in Kyjov.
During weekends a touristic train rides from Krásná Lípa (and Rumburk) to Zahrady, where the Kögler's trail can be joined at no.35 stop.
