Tanečnice (Dancer)

The hill of Tanečnice (Dancer), 598 metres above sea level, is situated near the village of Mikulášovice and has 136 stairs leading to the top. The octagonal lookout tower built of brick is the northernmost lookout or vantage structure in the Czech Republic. As early as 1887 the first wooden tower was built, only to be destroyed by a gale in 1903. The new tower was open in 1905. It is an excellent vantage point providing a view of the panorama of Saxon Switzerland, the Bohemian Uplands, the Lusatian Mountains, the Ore Mountains and the Krkonoše Mountains.
