Lichtenhainer-Wasserfall

The five-meter sandstone step, to which the water from the local brook was diverted in 1842. The waterfall is a popular tourist attraction of Saxon Switzerland; however, it is only artificially operated every thirty minutes in summer due to water shortage. An 8 km tramway line from Bad Schandau to the Lichtenhainer Wasserfall through the valley of the Křinice has been in operation since 1898 (in high season, the trams run every 30 minutes; off season – once per hour.
