Brtníky fortress (Rogue Knights’ Fort)

The almost unnoticeable remnants of a mediaeval fortress, whose actual name has not survived the centuries, can be found by the green trail between Šternberk and Tourist Bridge. The fortress was built of wood and was a part of the system of rock forts owned by the Berkas of Dubá. Its establishment was probably connected with the colonisation of the region in the 14th century. The fortress seems to have ceased to exist before the end of the 14th century.
