Zeughaus

An isolated place situated in the Großer Zschand Valley, which is one of the most valuable gorges of Saxon Switzerland as far as the natural riches are concerned. What was once a hunting armoury of the court of Saxon Electors was later converted into an inn. Now used as a summer restaurant. A great starting point of trips in the surrounding areas, e.g. on Winterstein.

Kaiserkrone

The shape of the intensely mouldered and rugged table rock (355 m) reminds a tricuspid crown. The panoramic views have been achieved by building an access road in 1842. It is situated only 2 kilometres from Hřensko, from where you can take the ferry across the Elbe to the railway station in Schöna.

Neumannmühle

A former wood and wood-pulp mill for paper manufacture situated in the valley of the Křinice. It has been preserved in the original condition and now hosts the museum of timber rafting history and life of the forest workers. The mill was declared a listed technical monument in 1961. There is a nature trail leading from Bad Schandau to the mill (the so-called “Rafters' Trail”).

Růžovský vrch

The “Růžák” nature preserve (118 hectares) - the highest peak of the Bohemian Switzerland National Park (619 m) and the landmark of the entire region. It is the largest Tertiary basalt formation of eruptive rock in the entire Bohemian-Saxon Switzerland.

Saupsdorf

The village offers numerous examples of vernacular architecture (semi-timbered houses) originating in the 18th and 19th centuries; a stone gate of a farm, originally from the 17th century; two mills from the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries; former blacksmith's shop from the 18th century. Over the village is a summer restaurant with a southern view of Saupsdorf and Saxon Switzerland.

Schrammsteine

Heavily eroded and rugged massif spanning along the right Elbe bank from Schmilka almost to Bad Schandau. The nature of the relief is captured by the name (German “schrammen” – tear apart, divide). Trails with steep ladders and unique views (Schrammsteinaussicht 417 m, Carolafelsen 453 m). One of the highlights of Saxon Switzerland.
